The One

This poem is very self-explanatory. It is about letting go. Letting go of someone who was thought to be the one. Maybe they were at the time. Not now.

Be like water.

Written in Vienna, Austria 2020

We never played it by the rules

I guess that is fine

We never cared of the asymmetry

That was in front of our eyes

We lived by our conviction and

That was love

Maybe you never knew

Maybe I was too bright

Maybe one can only be one

For life

The one that got away

The one that had me

Circle the drain

The one that gave life

Took it all away

The one that never made

Me feel the same

The one that held me

When I had pain

The one that left me

And turned away

Have we done something

Wrong at all

Have we confessed too much

In the dawn

Have you invited your

True self in

Have we ended each other

With the green devil
